I remember looking at a simulation that I tailored for my car, and it said the optimal shift points were around 6000 rpm. But when I drove the car, it felt like it still had plenty of power past that point, so I shifted around 7k. When I took my car to the track, my trap speeds were a little lower than I thought they should have been. Next time I go, I'm going to disregard the seat of the pants feeling and shift earlier. I'll see how I do then.
